Scholastic Book Fair

We will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair from November 18th to the 21st. The Library will be open late on Thursday November 21st during parent/teacher interview night. Look for flyers which will be sent home with every student highlighting some of the great titles available at this year's Fair. All money raised goes towards purchasing much needed books for the School Library! This year's goal is to reach $5000!

Last Week for Book Exchange

June 14 is the last day that resources can be signed out from the Library.

Grade 8's should be aware that if items are not returned to St. Timothy's before the end of the year, they will not receive their grade 9 science text books as they are signed out of the Notre Dame Library!

They also will not be able to sign out any resources from the Notre Dame library until they have returned, or payed for the items they have not returned to the St. Timothy School Library.

Students can now access the St. Timothy School Library Catalogue from home. One of the great new features of the catalogue is the addition of digital books.

The digital books can not be downloaded, but you can read them online. Just click on the link at the bottom of the page to open the book.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Once again the Library is back in business and there are exciting events planned for the Library:

Book Review Club :
Just a reminder of the Book Review Club which is available for anyone to join who is in grades 5 to 8. I'm expanding the Club to include the younger grades. Students in the Club can help the Library choose books they want to read, and also review and rate books!

Battle of the Books:
I will be beginning the Burlington Public Library Battle of the Books competition for grades 6 to 8 shortly. I would welcome parent volunteers for this activity as outdoor duties during the lunch period sometimes make it difficult for me to hold meetings.

Scholastic Book Fair:
Just a note on the November Book Fair which raised $2780.06 which I used to purchase books. I achieved my target of $5000.00 in sales almost to the penny and was able to update and enrich our Library collection. Thanks to all who purchased who helped the Library reach it's target.
